PNP reshuffle affects 5 generals, colonel

FIVE police generals and a colonel were affected by the latest reshuffle ordered by PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr who is due to retire from the service in about two weeks.

The movement of the officers was effective November 17, or 16 days before Acorda reaches the retirement age of 56 on December 3.

The affected officers was led by Maj. Gen. Bernard Banac , PNP director for information and communications technology management, who was reassigned as director of the PNP Special Action Force.

Banac replaced Maj. Gen. Rudolf Dimas who is now PNP director for plans.

Dimas succeeded Maj. Gen. Neil Alinsañgan who was named PNP director for information and communications technology management, vice Banac.

Brig. Gen. John Cayaban, director of the Ilocos regional police, was designated director of the Area Police Command-Visayas.

Cayaban took the place of Lt. Gen. Patrick Villacorte who is due to reach the retirement age on Tuesday next week.

Brig. Gen. Lou Evangelista, director of the Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG), was named Ilocos regional police office director, replacing Cayaban.

Col. Restituto Arcangel was named the replacement of Evangelista as PCADG director.

Arcangel is the outgoing chief of the Crime Research and Analysis Center (CRAC) under the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management.

A replacement for Arcangel at CRAC is yet to be announced.
