Police catch 6 of 9 Manila jail escapees

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 8) — Three detainees are still on the run while six have been rearrested after they escaped from a Manila police station on Wednesday, authorities said.

According to the Manila Police District (MPD), the nine detainees “managed to break the iron grill at the side portion of the jail facility and make good of their escape.”

The incident happened in the wee hours of Wednesday at Police Station 1 in Raxabago Tondo, Manila.

The rearrested detainees were identified as Arnold Olino, Andal Jericho, Calayas Albert, Zilmar Adriano, MJ Tuazon, and Gian Carlo.

Meanwhile, the MPD added that a certain Master Cedric Zodiacal Velasco, Jefferson Tumbaga, and John Joseph Laguna remain at large.

Police said a manhunt operation is still ongoing for the recapture of the three remaining escapees.
