Police officer, 3 other suspects in Catherine Camilon disappearance charged
Kidnapping and serious illegal detention charges have been filed against a police officer and three others believed to be behind the disappearance of beauty queen Catherine Camilon.
Philippine National Police Public Affairs Office Chief Col. Jean Fajardo said charged were Police Maj. Allan Avena de Castro, Jeffrey Ariola Magpantay and two John Does.
The charges were filed before the Office of the Batangas Provincial Prosecutor.
The beauty queen disappeared hours after she was spotted in a shopping mall in Lemery, Batangas last October 12 at around 7 p.m.
Camilon told her mother Rosario she was in Bauan, Batangas for an interview with Baling Channel but she never made it there.
Investigators said they found blood and hair strands from a recovered SUV linked to the disappearance of Camilon who remains missing.
