President Marcos distributes P15.7 million farm machinery to Dipolog farmers

Dipolog City – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. together with Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Conrado Estrella III, led the turnover ceremony of farm machinery and equipment amounting to P15.7 million to 30 agrarian reform beneficiaries' organizations in this city. The event, held at the Zamboanga del Norte Convention Center, marks a significant step towards bolstering agricultural productivity and supporting rural communities.

The distribution, which coincided with the allocation of 7,214 hectares of agricultural land to 4,456 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs), signifies the government's commitment to empowering farmers and enhancing food security in the country.

The machinery and equipment provided encompass a wide array of essential tools, including farm tractors, rice threshers, mud boats, rice mills, floating tillers, pump irrigation systems, corn shellers, water tanks, egg-laying machines, motorcycles, rice harvesters, backpack sprayers, and shredder machines. These resources aim to equip farmers with the necessary means to improve efficiency and productivity across various agricultural sectors.

President Marcos emphasized the pivotal role of mechanization in agricultural development, stating, "To ensure the productivity of farmers, the government is providing them with farm machines. These machines will greatly help farmers in producing rice, vegetables, chicken egg production, among others."

He further expressed his hope that the farm machines and equipment distributed will serve as an inspiration to farmers, fostering a prosperous and sustainable agricultural sector that contributes to the nation's food security.

"My prayer for all farmers is to have a productive, comfortable, and peaceful lifestyle," said Marcos, underscoring the government's dedication to uplifting the livelihoods of rural communities and ensuring their well-being.

The distribution of farm machinery and land signifies a significant stride towards achieving inclusive growth and empowering agrarian reform beneficiaries, ultimately advancing the nation's agricultural sector, and fostering economic resilience.
