"Ang hirap talaga ng nasusunugan...ubos na ubos, wala po akong nakuha," teary-eyed fire victim Conchita Casin said about her family's situation after the incident.

"Salamat sa tulong ninyo sa amin. Pwedeng pambili naman ito ng materyales," she added when asked how the assistance her family had received from the offices of Senators Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano would help them recover.

On April 11, 2024, the sibling senators' team went to Quezon City to offer timely aid to 136 victims of a devastating fire to facilitate their recovery.

Another victim, Paulita Carlite, emotionally described the aftermath of the fire for her family.

"Wala pong natira talaga, ang natira lang sa amin ay ang mga suot naming damit," she said.

"Senator Alan at Pia Cayetano, buong-puso po kaming nagpapasalamat sa inyo dahil hindi ninyo kami pinabayaan," Paulita said.

Officials of Barangay Tatalon personally expressed their gratitude as the sibling senators reached out to help fire victims in their area.

"Ito pong tulong ay maaring magamit sa kanilang pangangailangan sa muling pagbangon sa pagsasa-ayos ng kanilang bahay, sa materyales," Barangay Kagawad Ariel Rosales said.

"Malaking bagay po ito [livelihood assistance] sa mga residenteng nasunugan," he added.

The timely assistance extended to fire victims in Quezon City was in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.

AICS aims to provide support to individuals facing challenging situations, such as fire incidents, to aid them in recovering from crises.

The disbursement activity was successfully carried out due to the participation and efforts of Kagawads Ariel Rosales, William Chua, and Kiko Del Mundo.

Committed to providing immediate assistance to Filipinos, the sibling senators continuously visit various areas nationwide to offer aid and help them recover from difficult situations.
