Rain or Shine deals Nambatac to Blackwater for draft picks

MANILA, Philippines -- Rain or Shine guard Rey Nambatac has been traded to the Blackwater Bossing, the team announced Wednesday.

The lefty guard was dealt by the Elasto Painters in exchange for Blackwater's 2024 first round draft pick and 2025 second round pick.

Both picks are from the TNT Tropang Giga.

Nambatac averaged 8.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for the 6-5 Rain or Shine in the PBA Season 48 Commissioner's Cup.

He averaged about 17 minutes per game.

The trade ended the versatile Nambatac's stint with the Elasto Painters, who drafted him in 2017.

The trade came a day after former Bossing guard Baser Amer was officially announced as a new NLEX Road Warrior.

It also came after Blackwater signed veteran star James Yap.

The Bossing ended the PBA Commissioner's Cup with a dismal 1-10 win-loss record.
