REVIEW: For under P10,000, how long can vivo Y28’s 6,000mAh battery last in real life?

MANILA, Philippines — Undoubtedly, mobile phones have become an indispensable part of our lives, serving us from work to leisure—managing our schedules, keeping us entertained, and ensuring we stay connected at all times.

That's why the importance of a smartphone with exceptional battery life cannot be overstated; no one wants their phone dying halfway through the day.

Catering to this need is the newly launched vivo Y28, which packs a massive 6000 mAh battery. As most phones pack batteries between 3,000 to 5,000 mAh, the Y28's 6,000 mAh battery shows promise, which is why we put it to a try and see how it holds up in everyday use.

We jumpstarted our day at 7 a.m. with the vivo Y28 battery at 100%. We began with our usual routine of checking morning news updates and weather forecasts.

As we embarked on a trip, we streamed music through Bluetooth earphones for approximately four hours, simultaneously using mobile data for navigation to our destination. The vivo Y28's battery held strong and was still at 91% by lunch.

During lunchtime from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., we enjoyed a meal while watching YouTube videos in the background on the vivo Y28.

The screen brightness and volume were set at around 80%, ensuring an immersive experience without compromising on battery life. The battery decreased very little, remaining at 87% after lunch.

Throughout the afternoon, while working on our laptop, we indulged in Netflix, binge-watching 13 episodes of a series, each approximately 20 minutes long, to keep ourselves entertained.

After work at 6 p.m., we opened some social media apps, checked updates and chatted with friends. The battery during this time is still over 60%!

In the evening, we had dinner while enjoying music videos on the vivo Y28. We managed to watch four videos before finishing our meal.

Right after dinner, we switched gears and relaxed with the vivo Y28. We spent two hours playing Mobile Legends, fully immersing ourselves in the gameplay sessions. The phone handled the game smoothly, and the vivo Y28’s battery ensured we could play without worrying about running out of power.

It was only after gaming that the Y28 reached half of its capacity at 44%.

So we
