Reyes saludo kay Cone | Pilipino Star Ngayon

MANILA, Philippines — Sumama sa selebras­yon si dating Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes sa tagumpay ng national team na nasikwat ang gintong medalya sa 19th Asian Games sa Hangzhou, China.

Binigyang-pugay ni Reyes sina national basketball team interim head coach Tim Cone matapos nitong dalhin ang Gilas sa 70-60 panalo sa Jordan.

Ito ang unang gintong medalya ng Pilpinas sa Asian Games sapul noong 1962.

“So much has been said about Coach Tim’s accomplishments. This latest one, the Asian Games Gold, being among his finest moments,” ani Reyes sa kanyang post sa social media.

Magkasama sina Cone at Reyes sa kampanya ng Gilas sa 2023 Southeast Asian Games sa Cambodia noong Mayo at sa FIBA Basketball World Cup sa Maynila noong Agosto.

“But to us who know him well he is so much more than that. To my mentor, friend, brother - congratulations and thank you,” ani Reyes.

Si Cone ang pumalit sa coaching staff ng Gilas matapos magbitiw sa puwesto si Reyes nang matapos ang kampanya ng Pinoy squad sa FIBA World Cup.

“I talked to Chot and you know, he gave me his blessing. I was the one most embarrassed because I didn’t want to follow Chot and he gave me his blessing,” ani Cone sa isang panayam.
