Ronaldo Valdez's interview about KathNiel resurfaced

MANILA, Philippines — Veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez's past interview about the then couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla has resurfaced in social media following the actor's death and the couple's breakup.

In a 2022 interview with ABS-CBN News, Ronaldo described working with Kathryn and Daniel on the series "2 Good 2 Be True."

"Napakasarap kasama ni Kathryn. She's such a nice, sweet, young girl, tapos ang galing-galing pa, so ano pa?" Ronaldo said. 

"Si Daniel — I don't know why — parang real lolo and apo kami, e. Sometimes we are enjoying our break… Strikto sa akin 'yan, e. He's concerned about my health," he added.

Ronaldo also praised the acting prowess of Kathryn and Daniel. 

"They're not just the heartthrobs na effective sa fans; malaking plus 'yung magagaling sila, e. Ang galing nila," he said.  

"Sometimes I get to watch 'yung scene nila, silang dalawa, ako mismo kinikilig, e! …They've come a long way, they've evolved," he continued, praising the growth and skill of the two young actors.

Kathryn and Daniel announced their breakup last November 30. 

Ronaldo passed away last Sunday.
