Shootout seen in JPGT finale

MANILA, Philippines — The best junior golfers of the country head to The Country Club in Laguna tomorrow for a test of nerves and skills in the national finals of the ICTSI Junior PGT Series.

The fight for the Boys 9-10 crown will be worth watching, with Luzon leg champion Race Manhit to be challenged  by Jared Saban from Mindanao and fellow Luzon stalwarts Ryu Suzuki, Vito Sarines, Jacob Casuga and Luis Espinosa.

On the Boys 11-12, Mindanao jungolf sensation Apollo Batican will be up against Ateneo mainstays Javie Bautista, Aenzo Sulaik, Lujo Gomez and Inigo Gallardo, and DLSZ bet Jacob Gomez.

Patrick Tambalque, who recently bagged the Boys 13-14 Luzon leg crown, is expected to be crowded by TJ Padilla, Raj Crisostomo, Bien Fajardo and Chaz Limketkai in a fight for top honors. Also in the field are Mindanao junior Clement Ordeneza, Apo jungolfer David Teves and British School Manila’s Armand Copok.

Jungolf veterans lead the fight for the 15-18 Boys and Girls. In the hunt for the boys plum are Zach Villaroman, Santino Pineda, Charles Serdenia, Zeus Sara and Alonso Espartero while Mindanao jewel Ally Gaccion leads the girls’ side with Lia Duque, Ji Won Lee and Angel Bañez.

Other participants are Girls 9-10 Georgina Handog, Zuri Bagaloyos, Quincy Pilac, Makayla Verano, Maurysse Abalos and Cailey Gonzales; Girls 11-12 Precious Zaragosa, Mona and Lisa Sarines, Althea Bañez, and Tiffany Bernardino; Girls 13-14 Levonne Talion, Rafa Anciano, Chloe Rada, Monty Lapuz, Chloe Lim.
