[SPLIT News Alert] DAR-Agusan del Sur re-organizes BARC to help in the implementation of Project SPLIT
To strengthen and bolster the implementation of the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) project in the province of Agusan del Sur, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently conducted the reorganization of the Barangay Agrarian Reform Committee (BARC) in the town of Rosario and orientated its members on the new programs and projects of the department.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Engr. Loida L. Jones said the reorganization of BARC is integral to continuing the success of Project SPLIT in the area.
“The activity took place in Barangay Cabantao and Barangay Población, the key areas within the municipality where significant portions of SPLIT are located,” Jones said.
Jones disclosed that the BARC plays a significant role by extending help to the Provincial Project Management Office (PPMO) and Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer (MARPO) during the parcelization process of land titles, screening qualifications, and determining the deserving beneficiaries of the land.
“The department recognizes the importance of the farmers, landowners, agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations, and other CARP-stakeholders’ participation in the planning, organization, and effective management of the program and for the agency’s Project SPLIT,” she added.
Jones said the initiative will facilitate more efficient land parcelization and fair distribution, ensuring that the rightful beneficiaries receive their due.
The newly reorganized BARC will continue to work closely with the DAR and other stakeholders to uphold the principles of agrarian reform, fostering equitable land distribution, and promoting sustainable agricultural development in Rosario.
The successful reorganization of the BARCs in Barangay Cabantao and Barangay Población marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to implement the agrarian reform program effectively.
“Through active community participation and inter-agency collaboration, DARMO-Rosario reaffirms its commitment to social justice and economic empowerment for the agrarian community in Agusan del Sur,” she ended.
