[SPLIT News Alert] DAR Sorsogon personnel implement RTK application to speed up survey process under Project SPLIT

To speed up the parcelization and distribution of the remaining lands under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project to identified agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs), the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Sorsogon conducted a three-day Orientation and On-Site Training on Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) Application, a land surveying tool using two Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) antennas in real-time with better accuracy.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) II Nida A. Santiago said the main goal of the training is to accelerate and streamline the delivery of 500 hectares to ARBs, which are expected to be surveyed by the end of August 2024.

“The landholdings subject to the survey are those that have already been validated by the Field Validation Teams (FVTs) with Requests for Survey Services (RSS). The lands are ready for subdivision survey to finally generate approved survey plans and tabular technical descriptions needed for the issuance of individual electronic titles for the ARBs,” Santiago said.

Every landholding was meticulously measured, and fully monumented, and a signed lot allocation scheme was provided. Standard cylindrical monuments were planted in the property boundaries. Survey returns will be downloaded and ready for Inspection, Verification, and Approval (IVAS).

Santiago underscored the vitality of the survey as a milestone for the effective implementation of Project SPLIT in the province.

“With this, we look forward to an even more efficient delivery of the targets for the remaining years of the project implementation,” she added.

Participants in the training included staff members from the Land Tenure Improvement Division, the Provincial Project Management Office (PPMO) of Project SPLIT, and 13 Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officers.
