Taguig brings mobile health center to ‘embo’ barangays
MANILA, Philippines — The Taguig City government brought its health caravan project to Barangay West Rembo, an enlisted men’s barrio or “embo” barangay that is now under its jurisdiction.
Taguig claimed that the “Love Caravan” project, which provides medical, dental and social services, was brought to West Rembo after Makati allegedly failed to vacate the health center in the area.
More than 2,000 residents from West Rembo availed themselves of the services offered by the mobile health center.
Among the medical services provided were free consultations, OB-GYN checkups, diagnostic and laboratory services, vaccinations as well as free maintenance medicines.
The health caravan also provided free dental care and nutrition services, where residents were taught how to create healthy meals.
Other than healthcare, the caravan also assisted residents in registering and applying for social services.
The caravan facilitated the registration and distribution of IDs for both senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
