‘Tired’ Donny Pangilinan hasn’t taken a day off for 5 months

MANILA, Philippines — If actor Donny Pangilinan would post a status right now, it would be “#Blessed” because from “He’s Into Her” to “Can’t Buy Me Love,” he has starred in hit series one after the other, together with love team partner Belle Mariano.

Although grateful for the blessings coming his way, Donny admitted being so tired from working as the actor who just turned 26 last February 10 said that he has not taken a proper rest day for the past five months.

“’Yung wish ko lang talaga, for continuous growth siguro. I’ve been working a lot, nakikita n’yo naman ‘yun, these past months talaga. I think, the past five months have been the hardest in my whole life. ‘Di ko alam na kaya pala ‘yun na dire-diretso na walang rest day,” he shared.

Thus, he said that his birthday wish is to be able to go on a personal travel as soon as he finishes taping “Can’t Buy Me Love.”

“Pero nagawa ko, nagawa ko first of all dahil sa D’yos, dahil nandito kayong lahat, dahil nandito ‘yung mga magulang ko, the people around me, so I think, my birthday wish is hopefully that I could learn more and also that I could travel more and probably do more non-showbiz stuff, but more hopefully, I hope I could go around and meet a lot of those who’ve been there since Day One.”

He assured his fans that he, too, goes through a lot of things like anyone else.

“Grabe, grabe ‘yung pinagdadaanan nating lahat, kaya thankful ako na nandito kayo…”

But, borrowing from Robert Frost’s “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening,” Donny has miles to go before he sleeps.

“Kailangan naming mag-bangko ng iba’t ibang episodes kasi nasa episode 80 na tayo ng ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’,” he added, noting that they are just half-way through the series targeting 150 episodes. — Video by Deni Bernardo, video editing by Anjilica Andaya
