Walang Pasok: Class suspensions for April 23 due to threat of scorching heat

MANILA, Philippines — Some local government units (LGUs) have suspended their in-person classes on Tuesday due to the threat of high heat.

The announcements from LGUs followed after state weather bureau PAGASA released its latest heat index bulletin which said that 25 areas in the country will be under the “danger” classification, with temperatures ranging from 42°C to 45°C.

The following LGUs and schools have suspended in-person classes or shifted to alternative modes of delivery (AMD):

PAGASA has issued a warning under the "danger" classification as temperatures soar between 42°C to 51°C. 

It warned that individuals are at risk of heat-related ailments such as heat cramps or heat exhaustion under the scorching heat.

The state weather bureau advised the public to limit outdoor activities, stay hydrated, and schedule daily activities during cooler times later in the day to avoid potential complications from the extreme heat.
