4 Indians trying to enter PH illegally nabbed

FOUR Indian citizens previously blacklisted from entering the country have been apprehended in Tawi-Tawi, the Bureau of Immigration said yesterday.

BI intelligence division chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. said Lakhwinder Singh Brar, Parwinder Singh, Aukhraj Singj Dubb and Jagjit Chohan were arrested last June 28 by personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard, who had monitored the arrival of a vessel with the four onboard.

Manahan said when the vessel arrived at the Bongao port, the PCG also identified another foreigner, a Malaysian named Bryan Joel Ng who was allegedly traveling with a Filipina girlfriend.

“During the initial interview of the PCG, all four Indian men were found to have no immigration stamps, while Ng was unable to present his passport,” Manahan said, adding the PCG immediately reported the matter to the BI regional intelligence operating unit which proceeded to the site to implement the arrest armed with a mission order signed by Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco.

Manahan said the Indians were attempting to enter illegally to circumvent immigration inspections while Ng is suspected to be involved in trafficking.
