4th OFW reported injured in Taiwan earthquake
MANILA, Philippines — There are now four overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) reported hurt in the 7.2 magnitude quake that hit Taiwan Wednesday, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said.
In a post on X yesterday, DMW officer-in-charge Hans Leo Cacdac said the fourth OFW, a female, sustained head injuries due to falling debris.
“She is out of harm’s way and is being treated by a doctor,” Cacdac said.
Earlier reports said three OFWs were injured during the earthquake.
The DMW said there were no recorded fatalities or major injuries among Filipinos in Taiwan. It added that the Philippine migrant workers offices in Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung cities continue to monitor the situation.?
“They are ready to provide assistance to OFWs who need assistance,” the DMW said in a statement.?
