9 more OFWs from Lebanon return home amid Israel-Hezbollah conflict
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 9) — Nine more overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Lebanon have returned home amid the continuing tensions in the Middle East, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said.
The OFWs arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City via Qatar Airways late Wednesday evening.
They will be provided with all necessary assistance, said DMW officer-in-charge Hans Leo Cacdac.
So far, 19 Filipinos have been repatriated from Lebanon, a country north of Israel.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) placed Lebanon under Alert Level 3 on Oct. 21, which calls for voluntary repatriation, as tensions rose between Israel and the Iran-backed Islamist group Hezbollah.
Hezbollah is an ally of Hamas militants, who launched a surprise attack on Israel on Oct. 7.

Earlier this month, DFA Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega told CNN Philippines that at least 112 Filipinos in Lebanon were identified for repatriation.
