Abalos to LGUs: Enforce firecracker ordinances

INTERIOR Secretary Benjamin «Benhur» Abalos Jr. on Thursday called on local government units (LGUs) to strictly enforce their respective ordinances banning the use of harmful firecrackers to ensure safe New Year revelries.

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) data show that there were 1,210 primary-level LGUs with ordinances banning the use of harmful firecrackers in their respective localities.
