Ateneo Parents caging fires on bright note | The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — The Ateneo Parents Basketball League 2024 Season successfully kicked off at The Warehouse Sports Lab in Mandaue City recently.

In all, 80 parents spread in five teams are seeing action in the tournament organized by Atty. Jepoy Capoy of The Warehouse, Arnold Choachuy of Sunsport, Ian Callet of CSAS, Cid Cortes of ARC, and the officers of the league in Allan Rivera (acting president), Ing Rivera (secretary), and Diody Tinapay (treasurer).

The title contenders are the Sinulog Niños, Fiesta Senyor Fighters, Basilica Blazers, Baladhay Warriors, and Sulog Pilgrims.

The Sinulog Niños are composed of GK Mercader, Dwight Remedio, Jamel Macasamat, Van Pedrosa, B. Cabatingan, Alvin Buranday, Reggie Bancale, Willy Arizo, Fuentes, Ing Rivera, Mark Durban, Atty. Juban, and Brian Brusas.

The Fiesta Senyor Fighters will be manned by DK Batac, Christian Dizon, Jon Go, Phoebie Costano, Kicks Yacat, Jessie Capoy, John Lim, Buds Ciudadano, Rey Maquilan, Wardell Mayol, Atty. Marquez, Doyle Figueras, Alan Mayol, and Zeus Alemani.

Carrying the fight for the Basilica Blazers are Ryan Alforque, Rene Abcede, Ian Jaime, Abestilla, Kap Zanoria, Joms Gutierrez, Oriel Romero, Alvin Silvania, Al Handa, Vince Nery, Arnold Comon, Van Ignacio, and Roy Migabon.

The Baladhay Warriors will count on Fred Tan, Carlo Malacas, Al Kinidah, Aberion, Dexter Tan, J Remedio, Lito Item, Joseph Abastas, Ian Callet, Jorge Pinanonang, Bimbo Tequillo, Neil Avila, and Cedric Chiong

On the othe hand, the Sulog Pilgrims will rely on Reb Cortes, Roni Montuya, Jhon Lastimosa, Gerardo Dayday, Arnold Chochoy, Raymund Bartulin, Diody Tinapay, Nikko Tiu, Carlos Dalawampu, Jhunhell Montejo, Wendell Paciencia, Enteng Canete, and Joven Cid Cortes.

They will play under a single round robin format. The top four will advance to the crossover semifinals, with the winners slugging it out for the championship.
