BPBL president Jun Ebdane thanks Carmen LGU for all-out support | The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Batang Pilipino Basketball League founder and president Romeo “Jun” Ebdane, Jr. is in town to grace the championship games of the BPBL Season 2 Central Visayas Regional Finals today at the Carmen Sports and Activity Center in the municipality of Carmen in northern Cebu.

Together with his ever supportive wife Angeli, Ebdane established BPBL during the pandemic three years ago in the hope of bringing the youth to sports and along the way help them acquire discipline and good values rather than be hooked with gadgets and bad vices.

“My main purpose of coming to Cebu is to show my support to the organizers of BPBL Region 7, to our youth players and personally thank the LGU officials of Carmen for the support they have extended the BPBL organizers,” said Ebdane. “To the municipality of Carmen for hosting the regional finals and to the provincial Government of Cebu, we will always be grateful for all the support you have extended to the BPBL.”

“In behalf of the BPBL family, I would like to congratulate commissioner Ron Camara, regional coordinator coach Van Parmis and the provincial and municipal coordinators and coaches of BPBL Region 7, to our media friends for promoting the league, law enforcers for providing security, the referees and table officials, for the successful provincial tournaments and now the regional finals,” he continued.

In the same breath, Ebdane encouraged the youth to keep on chasing their dreams through this genuine grassroots program on a nationwide scale.

“To the youth basketball players of BPBL - BPBL is just the start of your journey,” Ebdane shared. “Always have faith and trust in God. Having the right and positive mindset coupled with hard work and never give up attitude, everyday, will bring you closer to your dreams.”

“To the Cebuano basketball community, please continue to support the BPBL and our basketball youth. Maraming Salamat po from the bottom of our hearts sa mainit ninyong pagtanggap sa BPBL. Mabuhay ang mga kabataang basketbolista ng Cebu at mabuhay ang BPBL!,” Ebdane ended. — (FREEMAN)
