Chinese nabbed for gun possession

OPERATIVES of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested in Makati City on Wednesday a Chinese national for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and hacking gadgets.

The CIDG identified the suspect as Yuhang Liu, who was nabbed along Finland Street, corner Codornico Street, in Barangay San Isidro.

He was arrested after the police received a call from a complainant who reported Liu pointed a gun at him and coerced him to deliver communication hacking devices.The complainant also told the police Liu tried to coerce him to move to different “vital installations” and public places to hack or access mobile phones.

CIDG operatives, aided by personnel from the Southern Police District and Intelligence Service of the AFP, conducted a surveillance operation and accosted Liu after seeing him in possession of a firearm.

Police said Liu failed to present documents authorizing him to posses a firearm. This prompted the authorities to place Liu under arrest and to seize his firearm.

Seized from him were three pistols, magazines, ammunition, a multi-band directional antenna system, batteries, a radio receiver/transmitter, a router, a solar inverter, several phones, and P15,470 cash, among others.
