Court acquits Elenita Binay of graft, malversation

MANILA, Philippines: The Sandiganbayan's Fourth Division acquitted former Makati mayor Elenita Binay of graft and malversation charges in connection with the purchase in 2001 of P9.9 million worth of hospital equipment which allegedly did not undergo public bidding.

The equipment was for the Ospital ng Makati.
