CSB catches bus to playoffs

MANILA, Philippines — St. Benilde took care of business against San Sebastian College-Recoletos, 25-19, 25-18, 25-20, to catch the last playoffs bus in the Shakey’s Super League Collegiate Pre-Season Championship yesterday at Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Wielyn Estoque registered 13 points on 11 hits, a block and an ace as the Lady Blazers spoiled an all-UAAP cast as the lone NCAA bet in the next round.

The three-time NCAA champion St. Benilde waxed hot in time, scoring its second straight win to finish with a 2-1 slate in Pool D topped by Far Eastern U en route to the playoffs.

Six more UAAP teams in National U and Ateneo from Pool A, Santo Tomas and University of the East from Pool B, and La Salle and University of the Philippines from Pool C made it to the next stage as Adamson (1-2) missed the cut.
