DAR Region 1, gov’t line agencies, attend land parcelization cross-learning sessions
Quezon City - Cross-learning sessions for collaborative implementation of the Project SPLIT were held on 9-13 October 2023 in Quezon City. The event was attended by representatives from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), The World Bank, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), and the Land Registration Authority (LRA).
The activity aimed to present the perspectives of the different stakeholders, updates on performance, as well as issues and concerns related to Project SPLIT for the purpose of crafting practicable solutions and forging partnerships for the ways forward.
The cross-learning sessions were an opportunity for the different stakeholders to identify areas where collaboration could be strengthened, as well as develop strategies to address the challenges encountered in the implementation of the project.
DARRO1 Regional Director Maria Ana B. Francisco, CESO V attended the 5-day collaborative learning session along with Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services Felix C. Taguba – DENR Region 1, Director IV Atty. Harriet N. Abyadang – NCIP Region 1, Regional Register of Deeds Atty. Laura Irynn May O. Padua – Registry of Deeds La Union, and Register of Deeds Atty. Primer S. Sendaydiego – Registry of Deeds Lingayen and Tayug, Pangasinan.
Project SPLIT is a support program for the parcelization of lands for individual titling. The project aims to improve the land security of agrarian reform beneficiaries by providing them with individual titles to their land. ### (Miranda Dexter)
