DOLE: Over 30K jobs up for grabs on June 12 NCR job fairs

MORE than 30,000 employment opportunities will be offered when the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) holds simultaneous job fairs in the National Capital Region (NCR) on June 12 in celebration of the 126th anniversary of Philippine Independence.

In a statement, the DOLE encouraged jobseekers to participate in the job fairs, where 31,350 local and overseas employment opportunities will be offered by over 500 employers.

“The preliminary figures for vacancies and participating employers are expected to increase in the coming days,” said the DOLE.

Initially, the identified job fair sites are SM Grand Central (Caloocan City); SM Center Las Piñas and Robinsons Place (Las Piñas City); SM Megamall (Mandaluyong City); SM City Manila (Manila City); SM City Marikina (Marikina City); Parañaque City Social Hall and Sports Complex (Parañaque City); SM Mall of Asia (Pasay City); SM East Ortigas (Pasig City); SM Fairview (Quezon City); and Vista Mall (Taguig City).

“The DOLE will also mount job fairs across the regions,” stressed the Department.

DOLE said job seekers must bring their application requirements such as resume or curriculum vitae, diploma, transcript of records, and certificate of employment for those formerly employed.

Aside from searching for jobs, it said those interested in pursuing skills training may visit the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) booths, where skills demonstrations will also be conducted.

The DMW said a one-stop-shop of government services will also be available for job seekers.

This means that jobseekers may be able to process their pre-employment documents from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Postal Corporation (PhilPost), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and Social Security System (SSS).
