DoT honored at GovMedia Conference, Awards 2024

THE Department of Tourism (DoT) earned two awards at the GovMedia Conference and Awards 2024 for its flagship programs: the Tourist Rest Area (TRA), which provides tourists with convenience and comfort, and the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) training program, which highlights the country's commitment to raising the standards of hospitality and service in the tourism and service industries.

Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco expressed her gratitude for the awards, which she received personally at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center on Thursday.

«Through our Tourist Rest Areas, we ensure the comfort and convenience of our tourists as they visit our destinations,» Frasco said.

«Through our Filipino Brand of Service Excellence Program, every visit to the Philippines is not just enjoyable but also filled with the profound love and hospitality that sets our country apart,» she added.

The TRA includes a facility for clean facilities with showers for visitors traveling to various tourist destinations.

It also includes a coffee shop, pasalubong and tourist information center, a charging station, and a souvenir store with a selection of things that are proudly made in the Philippines.

It includes one of the warm and sincere ways of greeting tourists, the «Mabuhay and Salamat» (Welcome and Thank you) gestures throughout their arrival and until they leave, as well as serving guests under the seven values of Filipino hospitality, with opportunities to showcase the Filipino brand of service excellence at tourist touch-points.
