Easterlies to bring rain showers - Pagasa

The easterlies --winds that come from the east that pass through the Pacific Ocean and carry warm and humid weather – will bring isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in Metro Manila and the rest of the country especially in the late afternoon or at night, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday.

Meanwhile, the shear line where the hot and cold air converge is affecting Batanes, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte and Apayao where overcast skies will prevail in the next 24 hours, Pagasa said.

Weather forecaster Robert Badrina said that despite their prediction of at least one storm entering the country this month, no low pressure area forming inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility has been spotted.

«Most likely, we could still experience hot temperatures particularly from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.,» he said.
