'Enteng' exits PH but continues to enhance monsoon rains in Metro Manila, parts of Luzon

MANILA, Philippines — After wreaking havoc in Luzon, Severe Tropical Storm «Enteng» exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the state-run weather agency said on Wednesday.

As a result, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) lifted all storm signals in the affected areas.

Weather specialist Benison Estareja said they have spotted new cloud clusters east of Luzon but they remained unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone over the next 24 hours.

The trough of Enteng, now called «Yagi» outside of the Philippines, is affecting the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte where scattered rains and thunderstorms would prevail, Pagasa said in its 5 a.m… bulletin.

While monsoon rains would be experienced over Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan and Occidental Mindoro, occasional rain showers would prevail over Metro Manila, La Union, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Rizal, Oriental Mindoro, northern Palawan

and the rest of Central Luzon on one hand, it added.

The state weather bureau said Enteng, despite being outside PAR, continued to enhance the southwest monsoon or «habagat» which now prevails in most parts of the country.
