HomeSourced, TTEC Dragons make history in Inter-BPO hoop | The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — The HomeSourced, Inc. and TTEC Dragons etched their names in stone as the first ever champions of the Hoop Nation Inter-BPO Basketball League powered by Hype Pro Cebu at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

HomeSourced shrugged off a cold start to fend off the Newfold Wolves, 98-88, and clinch the West Division title.

James Villafuerte shined the brightest for the Newfold Wolves with 21 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one block in an all-around performance that earned him the West Finals MVP award.

HomeSourced was down by seven in the early goings, 21-28, but forged a 48-48 deadlock at halftime before eventually seizing the upper hand,  76-69, for good.

Ralph Belarmino cashed in 20 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and two steals in Newfold's losing effort.

In the other final match, the TTEC Dragons upended the SVC Bulldogs, 74-66, to grab the East Division crown.

Kenneth Cada starred for TTEC with a solid double-double show of 18 points and 12 rebounds laced with two blocks and a steal to lift the East Finals MVP trophy.

The Dragons trailed for most of the way but rode on a spirited endgame fightback, outscoring the Bulldogs in the final frame, 19-7, to come up with a five-point escape.

Aristotle Alcos finished with 17 points, five assists, five rebounds, and two steals but his efforts went down the drain for the Bulldogs. — (FREEMAN)
