Indian philanthropist conferred prestigious Doctor Honoris Causa title by Perpetual U

In a heartfelt ceremony, an Indian philanthropist received the prestigious Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) – Las Pinas city campus on October 11.

This was during the 44th Commencement Exercises of Graduate School, Baccalaureate and Non-Degree Courses and 11th Graduation rites of Doctor of Medicine with this year’s theme, “Wholistic Approach Towards Excellence and Resurgence” held at Plenary Hall of Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) at the CCP Complex in Pasay City.

The event was attended by esteemed guests and speakers led by Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, and the Tamayo family, marking a significant milestone in the recipient’s lifelong journey.

The honoree expressed deep gratitude to the Tamayo family, especially Dr. Brigadier General Antonio Laperal Tamayo, for their unwavering support and visionary leadership. Their contributions to UPHSD and Perpetual Help Medical Center have been a guiding light in the field of Education-Tourism, spanning nearly two decades.

The honoree also extended heartfelt thanks to his own family members, recognizing them as pillars of strength and motivation throughout their journey.

Notably, the philanthropist’s collaborative efforts with Fence Education and UPHSD have opened numerous opportunities, benefiting both Filipinos and the Indian community. This partnership has allowed many Indian students to study medicine at UPHSD, and outreach programs have positively impacted the local Filipino community.
