THE establishment of the Information Laboratory (INFO-LAB) Project at Malay College is a transformative step toward community empowerment and sustainable development. This visionary endeavor, driven by a memorandum of agreement signing ceremony, marks the convergence of efforts from organizations dedicated to fostering learning and social progress.

This partnership signifies a profound commitment to community welfare. It is represented by key figures, including this author; Committee Chairman Renato Heray, Bayanihang Arkitektura; Prof. Francesco Rossini from The Chinese University of Hong Kong; Ar. Nuno Suarez from Saint Joseph University; Mayor Floribar Bautista from the Municipal Government of Malay Aklan; and Mr. Jimmy Maming from Malay College.

The project partners extend their gratitude for the instrumental contributions of individuals such as United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) National President Ar. Richard Garcia; UAP Secretary General Ar. Vanessa Lagman Ledesma; UAP National Treasurer Ar. Rene Richie Corcuera; and Ar. Joey Manalad. The invaluable efforts of UAP Boracay Chapter President Ar. The INFO-LAB emerges as a beacon of hope within the Malay community — a multifunctional space designed to facilitate social programs and educational activities. Embracing a participatory approach, it seeks to bridge formal and informal practices, empowering community members to actively engage in the construction and upkeep of the facility.

Comprising indoor and semi-outdoor spaces, the three-story structure embodies thoughtful design elements aimed at optimizing spatial quality and environmental sustainability. From double-height interiors enhancing air circulation to a tribune staircase fostering collective engagement, every aspect of the INFO-LAB is meticulously crafted to serve its users' diverse needs.
