Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Ji's hit K-drama 'It's Okay to Not Be Okay' gets a Philippine adaptation starring Anne Curtis and Joshua Garcia

The news of a Philippine adaptation of immensely popular K-drama ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’ has set hearts racing and anticipation soaring. The announcement, made on May 18, revealed that the cherished series would be reimagined with a Filipino cast, promising a fresh take on the beloved narrative.
At the forefront of this adaptation is none other than the celebrated actress Anne Curtis, who is set to step into the shoes of the mysterious and stylish Ko Mun Yeong.

Curtis expressed her eagerness to tackle the role, citing her admiration for the original series and her desire to bring its magic to Philippine audiences. Anne Curtis even made a deliberate decision to end her hiatus from acting, driven by this opportunity. With a fervent desire to be part of this project, she personally implored her manager to take swift action in securing the rights for the adaptation.
Joining Curtis are esteemed actors Joshua Garcia and Carlo Aquino, who are slated to portray the complex brothers Moon Gang Tae and Moon Sang Tae, respectively. Among the buzz surrounding this announcement, netizens couldn’t help but notice the uncanny resemblance between the Filipino leads and their Korean counterparts, Seo Ye Ji and Kim Soo Hyun.
‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’ originally aired in 2020 and quickly garnered widespread love for its storytelling and the cast's emotional performances. Directed by Park Shin Woo, the series delves into themes of mental health through the relationship between Ko Moon Young, an antisocial children's book writer, and Moon Gang Tae, a dedicated psych ward caretaker devoted to his autistic older brother, Moon Sang Tae.
