Las Islas Filipinas: Road to excellence

MANILA, Philippines — For a lot of Filipinos, education is considered the solution to many problems such as poverty and career stagnation.

The journey of Ryan Sta. Maria-Everist is a lot like the journeys of so many Juans and Juanas. But in other ways, his unique triumph has led to the birth of one of the fastest rising education and visa services agencies in Australia and in the Philippines: Las Islas Filipinas Education Services.

As a young boy, Everist was raised by different relatives because his mother had him as a teenager. He also did not have a lot of close friends because he would go from one place to another.

On top of these, he found it difficult to get quality education given his financial situation. While his luck turned around when an Australian philanthropist funded his college education, he soon struggled with depression as he went to Australia to pursue further studies. The struggles he faced, however, made him stronger and more determined to succeed.

Having started with nothing to his name, he took every opportunity to improve as a person and as a professional. Pulling from his own experiences and aspirations, he decided to set up his own company so that he can better help his fellow Filipinos attain their dreams in Australia, to experience the same blessings he was given.

This led to the official launching Las Islas Filipinas Education Services in 2022. While it has not been easy, Everist’s grit has translated to tremendous growth of Las Islas Filipinas in such a short amount of time.

Las Islas provides five core services. First is the provision of free and accurate information on available courses and institutions, along with any other relevant details about their studies in Australia.

Second is the provision of assistance to students with all essential paperwork that covers admissions and visa processing, plus travel and accommodation. Third, Las Islas offers education training based on the student’s unique interests and background.
