LIST: Do’s and Don’ts for Traslacion 2024

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 3)— The Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene, also known as Quiapo Church, released on Wednesday its reminders for devotees joining the Traslacion on Jan. 9.

Don’ts

• Do not come up or jump on the transport platform that carries the Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno or the Black Nazarene.

• Do not push each other to avoid injuries and collisions.

• Do not bring bags or big items. If unavoidable, transparent bags should be used for easier inspection.

Do’s

• Devotees may toss handkerchiefs to wipe parts of the Black Nazarene.

• Devotees are encouraged to use the lever or rope that guides the way of the Black Nazarene.

Other reminders

• Vulnerable persons, persons with disabilities, and children should just wait at the side of the street for safety.

• Make sure to eat properly before going to the Traslacion to ensure your strength during the procession.

With the lifting of restrictions, the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday said they will be deploying around 16,000 personnel to ensure the safety of the expected millions of devotees.
