LPA dissipates; northeast monsoon, shear line to bring rain

The low pressure area (LPA) spotted off Mindanao has dissipated but two weather systems will affect the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday.

Weather specialist Robert «Obet» Badrina said the northeast monsoon will bring overcast skies with light rains in Apayao, Cagayan Valley and Quezon.

Meanwhile, the shear line where the hot and cold air converge is affecting the Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Bicol Region and MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) where overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail, Pagasa said.

Badrina said the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated downpour and thunderstorms.
