LRT-1 Baclaran station to undergo repair work
LIGHT Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC), the operator of LRT-1, announced it would temporarily close its Baclaran station from Wednesday to Sunday to conduct rail replacement.
Maintenance is part of LRMC's ongoing effort to upgrade the railway system's efficiency.
«As the LRT-1 system continues to serve our growing ridership, LRMC is committed to delivering a safe and dependable transportation system. We kindly request the understanding of our passengers and apologize for any inconvenience as we undertake these essential rail renewal activities, which are crucial for enhancing the LRT-1 experience. Additionally, we are actively deploying our new 4th Generation trains to accommodate more passengers, with five train sets already in commercial service,» said LRMC's Chief Operating Officer Rolando Paulino 3rd.
LRMC said that the temporary closure will have implications on train movements and deployment and the use of station platforms for passenger boarding and disembarking.
LRT-1's train schedule and headway would increase from the current four-minute intervals to approximately five minutes. Operations are expected to return to normal on Monday, September 25.
