Makabayan bares 10 Senate bets

THE Makabayan coalition unveiled on Monday its senatorial slate for the midterm elections in 2025 during an event commemorating National Heroes Day at the Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila.

Joining the slate are ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro; Gabriela Women's Party Rep. Arlene Brosas; Kilusang Mayo Uno's Jerome Adonis; former anti-poverty czar Liza Maza; former Bayan Muna representative Teddy Casiño; Pamalakaya Vice Chairman Ronnel Arambulo and Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) Chairman Danilo Ramos; Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (Piston) Chairman Mody Floranda; Mimi Domingo of Kadamay; and Jocelyn Andamo from Filipino Nurses United (FNU).

Bayan Muna Chairman and Makabayan Co-Chairman Neri Colmenares emphasized the significance of the event, which underscores the coalition's commitment to championing the rights of the marginalized and advocating for genuine social change during the event.

«This slate represents our unwavering dedication to the principles of nationalism, democracy and social justice,» said Colmenares.

«Our candidates are not just leaders but are true advocates for the Filipino people, ready to push for policies that uplift the oppressed and marginalized sectors of our society,» he added.
