Marvel drops new 'Deadpool, Wolverine' trailer, posters

MANILA, Philippines — Marvel Studios is slowly building up excitement for the highly-anticipated release of "Deadpool & Wolverine" by releasing an official trailer for the film.

The trailer begins with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine asking for another drink in a bar when he's interrupted by a recruitment pitch by Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool.

Wolverine attempts to flash his adamantium claws, but they don't go all the way out, which Deadpool pokes fun at, building up the headbutting between the two.

Deadpool asks for Wolverine's help to save his universe but when the mutant refuses, Deadpool taunts him.

Matthew Macfadyen's Paradox of the Time Variance Authority explains that the particular Wolverine Deadpool meets failed his entire world, a revelation followed by brutal action clips of Deadpool and Wolverine fighting each other near the ruins of the 20th Century Fox logo.

As a slow-motion clip of the two main character continues, Deadpools points out that Wolverine was "THE X-Man" that everyone looked up to, and the action kicks into high gear with more ruthless fighting.

The trailer shows a first glimpse at Cassandra Nova, the telekinetic and telepathic twin of Charles Xavier played by Emma Corrin, who at one point, makes easy work of Wolverine.

Familiar items from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) make an appearance like the giant remains of Ant-Man, Red Skull's retrofitted Hydra Schmidt Coupe Grau bearing an Iron Man logo, and an alioth over more exciting clips.

Both Deadpool and Wolverine say at different times "Let's f***in' go!" and before the title card hits, the two characters appear to be jumping into a portal created by a sorceror (possibly Doctor Strange).

The trailer ends with Leslie Uggams' Blind Al asking about doing cocaine and Wade Wilson out of the Deadpool costume quips such nonsense wouldn't bode well with Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios.

Accompanying the trailer's release were two new movie posters wherein Deadpool and Wolverine are reflected in each other's
