MMDA brings joy to motorists

OFFICIALS and traffic enforcers of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority yesterday brought the joy of the holiday season out in the streets by handing out grocery packs to motorists along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue.

MMDA Chairperson Romando Artes, along with MMDA Assistant General Manager for Operations David Angelo Vargas and MMDA Traffic Enforcement Group Director Victor Nunez, led the distribution of the grocery packs under the agency’s “Ticket or Treat” program to some 300 motorists along EDSA in front of the Baliwag bus terminal in Quezon City.

Another round of distribution was also held along Commonwealth Ave.

Artes said the distribution will “last until Friday this week.”

“This is a simple program of the MMDA this holiday season. This is our simple way of saying thank you to motorists who adhere to our traffic regulations,” Artes said.

While bringing joy to motorists, Artes assured the public the agency will not relent in its mandate to apprehend those who violate traffic rules and regulations.

He said the agency has deployed 2,400 traffic enforcers in the metropolis for traffic management this holiday season.
