TWO students from Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) won first place in project presentation during the 8th Summer Course Program in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

The winners were Efanna Felice Casil and Dominique Stefanny Lamoste, incoming fourth-year agriculture students of the MMSU College of Agriculture, Food and Sustainable Development (CAFSD).

Frances Batara of MMSU Strategic Communication Office said Casil and Lamoste presented their action plan for improving global food sustainability and security together with two delegates from the University of Debrecen in Hungary and Central Luzon State University in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.

Anchored on the theme «Harmony in Animal and Agricultural Production for Global Food Security,» the Faculty of Animal Science of the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in Indonesia hosted the 2024 summer course program from July 21 to Aug. 3, 2024

The program aimed to «increase intercultural competence and expand international networks.»

Meanwhile, Batara said Dexter Lloyd Calderon, an MMSU incoming fourth-year agriculture student, also completed the summer course program, while Althea Victoria Cainglit, an agricultural extension major, participated in the parallel session on the Asian Association of Agricultural Colleges and Universities or AAACU Tour from July 21 to 31.

Calderon and Cainglit were accompanied by Keivin Cadavona, a faculty member of the MMSU Department of Agricultural Sciences (DAS).
