New NU campus rises in Ortigas

NATIONAL University (NU) celebrated the opening of its newest campus, NU East Ortigas, at SM City East Ortigas Atrium Center, Pasig City, on June 29, 2024.

With the theme «NU Rises in the East,» the new campus provides affordable, accessible and quality education to learners from Pasig City and the rest of eastern Metro Manila and Rizal province.

NU East Ortigas is the 12th campus of the National University and signifies its long-standing commitment and dedication to creating a nurturing and progressive learning environment.

The new campus has modern classrooms, science and computer labs, a comprehensive learning resource center and a dedicated athletics area for sports development.

Gracing the event were National University President and CEO Renato Carlos Ermita Jr., PhD, who delivered an inspiring message; Senior Director for Marketing and Resource Development Adolf Aran Jr., who welcomed the attendees; and NU East Ortigas Executive Director Lee Tajonera.

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto and Vice Mayor Robert Jaworski Jr. warmly welcomed NU East Ortigas and expressed excitement about collaborating with the school for Pasig City's various scholarship and educational programs.

Top SM Prime Holdings Inc. marketing and operations officials were also in attendance, led by their Executive Vice President for Marketing Jon San Agustin, Senior Vice President for Operations Allan Brosas and Mall Manager Joan Ilagan.

The program started with the NU Percussion Department and Cheer Squadron's introductory drum beat sequence and the invocation and national anthem rendered by the NU Chorale.

Exciting performances from the homegrown NU performing arts groups followed, with the NU Chorale coming back onstage for a series of rousing song selections, the NU Dance Company with their electrifying street dance display, and the NU Pep Squad, who wowed the crowd with their high-flying UAAP podium-finishing cheer dance routine.
