No extension for 13th month-pay report submission: DOLE

THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is sticking to its decision giving business establishments only until yesterday, Monday, to submit compliance reports on the mandatory 13th month pay for their employees.

In a text message, Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said no extension won’t be given to business establishments that have yet to submit their compliance reports on the 13th month pay.

“The report of compliance shall be done no later than January 15 of each year. Thus, it is expected that reports will be submitted, if not yet done,” said Laguesma.

“There is no extension!” he added.

The labor chief said DOLE will need ample time to hold accountable the firms that have failed to provide their workers their 13th-month pay.

“Timely submission helps the DOLE to determine as soon as possible the compliance rate, and to map out its strategy and course of action insofar as noncompliant employer/s are concerned,” explained Laguesma.

Under Labor Advisory No. 25-2023, employers shall make a report of their compliance on the mandatory provision of 13th month pays.

DOLE said reports may be submitted through the DOLE Establishment Report System at https://reports.dole.gov.ph/ not later than January 15, 2024.
