P16 million shabu seized in Quezon province

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Shabu with a total street value of P16 million was seized in separate anti-narcotics operations that resulted in the arrest of four alleged major drug suppliers in Lucena and Infanta, Quezon on Saturday night.

Two of the suspects, identified only as Eric, 40, and alias Ryan, 38, were high-value targets, according to Col. Ledon Monte, Quezon police chief.

Eric allegedly yielded 10 plastic packs containing shabu with an estimated street value of P15.6 million, Monte said.

Police said they seized from Ryan 15.04 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P306,816.

Both suspects were arrested in Lucena.

Meanwhile, in Infanta, police arrested an alias Gutos, 42, and alias Kiko, 31, during a sting that resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs valued at P36,516.

The suspects were charged for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
