Palace issues proclamations declaring holidays

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has issued proclamations declaring holidays in various parts of the country to allow residents to participate in local festivals and commemorations.

The holidays were declared in proclamations signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin by authority of President Marcos on Oct. 18.

Proclamation No. 369 declared Oct. 20 a special non-working day in Batac City, Ilocos Norte to commemorate the 157th birth anniversary of General Artemio Ricarte, a leader of Filipino troops during the Philippine Revolution and Philippine-American War.

Proclamation No. 370 declared Oct. 28 a special non-working day in Dingle, Iloilo to commemorate the Cry of Lincud, the first declaration of revolution against Spain in Iloilo and Panay island.

The Palace declared Nov. 4 a special non-working day in San Carlos City in Negros Occidental for a local festival and Nov. 10 in Tanay, Rizal to celebrate its foundation day and the 13th Hane Festival.

Proclamation Nos. 373 and 374 declared holidays in Oriental Mindoro on Nov. 15 and Tublay, Benguet on Nov. 22, respectively, to celebrate their founding anniversaries.

Proclamation Nos. 375, 376 and 377 declared non-working holidays in Palayan City on Nov. 22 and Sarangani and Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro on Dec. 7, respectively.

Malacañang also declared special non-working days in  Narvacan, Ilocos Sur on Dec. 13; Sindangan, Ilocos Norte on Dec. 23; and Palayan City, Nueva Ecija on Dec. 5.
