PBBM's Early Christmas Gift of Land Titles for 2,143 Farmers in Western Visayas

PASSI CITY, Iloilo—President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. brought early Christmas joy by distributing certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) to 2,143 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Western Visayas on December 11. Covering 2,903.52 hectares, these titles were given to farmers from Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo.

President Marcos emphasized the significance of the land titles, symbolizing ownership and the government's commitment to agrarian reform. He urged the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to expedite land distribution and collaborate with other government agencies for comprehensive ARB support.

“With today’s distribution of titles, we look positively into the future as the government endeavors to complete the acquisition and distribution of agricultural lands nationwide,” President Marcos said.

“By granting Filipino farmers actual possession of land titles, the government can empower them and, at the same time, enhance their self-reliance and productivity,” the President added.

During the event, President Marcos and DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III turned over P26.7 million in resources—machinery, equipment, organic fertilizers, and tissue culture facilities—to 90 agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations (ARBOs) in Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo. As part of the Sustainable and Resilient Agrarian Reform Communities (SuRe ARC) Project, these resources aim to modernize farming practices and increase farmers' income.

“We aim to improve their economic lives by boosting agricultural production and household income. That’s why these farm inputs are provided to strengthen the support systems of our ARBs,” DAR Secretary Estrella said.

In additional support, tissue culture facilities with greenhouses were provided to agrarian reform cooperatives in Passi and New Lucena, Iloilo, along with a solar-powered greenhouse facility in Capiz. These initiatives, part of the SuRe ARC Project, promote sustainable agriculture and economic growth in rural communities.
