Perpetual shoots for Final Four bonus

MANILA, Philippines — University of Perpetual Help guns for the top seeding and the twice-to-beat Final Four incentive that goes with it as it clashes with a dangerous San Sebastian in today’s final elimination play date in NCAA Season 99 junior basketball at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.

The Junior Altas slew the heavily favored Letran Squires, the reigning titlists, in a 94-88 shocker Friday that catapulted the former straight to the top with a 7-1 record and closer to claiming the important playoff bonus.

The Johp Cleopas-mentored UPHSD side will claim that pivotal advantage if it could hurdle San Sebastian at 8 a.m.
That duel could also serve as a sneak preview of the Final Four since the Staglets could end up at No. 4.

SSC-R though is expected to go for the win as it is currently in a three-way logjam at second with Letran and Mapua, all toting 6-2 cards, and a triumph would give the former a shot at the Final Four incentive.
But momentum appears on the side of UPHSD, which is inching closer and closer to gaining a crack at its breakthrough high school crown.

Letran and Mapua collide with College of St. Benilde at 2:30 p.m. and San Beda at 12 p.m., respectively.

The other two matches, albeit non-bearing, pit Jose Rizal against Emilio Aguinaldo College at 10 a.m. and Lyceum of the Philippines U with Arellano U at 4:30 p.m.
