Project SPLIT: Caraga RPMO accelerates project implementation with action-planning workshop

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Caraga Regional Project Management Office (RPMO), under the leadership of Regional Director Atty. Merlita S. Capinpuyan, is intensifying its efforts to fast-track Project SPLIT implementation. A two-day action planning workshop, which commenced on August 12, 2024, at Watergate in Butuan City, marks a significant step towards this goal.

The Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling, or Project SPLIT, has recently been extended for an additional three years. This extension allows the department to concentrate on expediting its completion to ensure that the project's beneficiaries achieve land security.

RD Capinpuyan stressed the significance of the workshop, stating, "This activity is crucial in ensuring the commitment of our Provincial Project Management Offices (PPMOs) to deliver the department's programs to our agrarian reform beneficiaries.”

Building on the momentum from the Regional Project Management Review held in Surigao City on August 8-9, the workshop centered on refining strategies to achieve Project SPLIT's targets within the designated timeframe.

Engr. Emma A. Jamero, the Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator and Regional Planning Officer, presented the PPMOs' catch-up plans to address potential challenges.

RPMO Caraga has already made notable strides in its implementation, with 23,331 hectares validated, reaching 72% of its CY 2024 target. Additionally, 1,536 hectares have been registered. Furthermore, 4,100 hectares out of the 11,006-hectare target have already been distributed.

Parceliary Coordinator, PARPO II Maria Elizabeth L. De Guzman, also reminded the PPMOs with their commitments, in the form of undertakings, to the Central Office which they recently signed and submitted, for the rest of CY 2024. She continued, “We must exhaust all our efforts to achieve what we have promised, especially so that the resources are available, as promised by our Central Office.”
