Quezon City names new candidate for Miss Universe PH

MANILA, Philippines: Quezon City has named a new bet for Miss Universe Philippines — Cam Lagmay. She will replace Lorraine Ojimba who withdrew for health reasons.

Lagmay was the former captain of the University of the Philippines Pep Squad and the Philippine National Cheerleading Team.

«Her journey is going to be a testament on how hard work, determination, and drive can make dreams come true. As a young girl, she believed that she was destined for greatness,» Miss Universe Philippines — Quezon City said.

«She dreamt of becoming a beauty queen who could inspire people to reach their full potential when they take care of themselves and others. Now, she's more than ready to showcase this positivity to the universe — championing LOVE FOR ALL that starts when you CAM back to loving yourself first,» it added.

Ojimba and two other contestants withdrew from the competition — Joanne Thornley of Angeles City and Natasha Jung of Kananga.

There will be 52 competitors for the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 crown. Coronation night will be on May 11 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Michelle Dee will crown her successor at the end of the event. The winner will represent the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant to be held in Mexico.
