Quiboloy still in PH – Abalos

INTERIOR Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. yesterday asserted fugitive pastor Apollo Quiboloy of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) religious group is still in the country amid the public uproar over the escape of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo.

Authorities have confirmed that Guo, who is facing charges of qualified human trafficking and tax evasion, among others, left the country last month without passing through immigration and is believed to be hiding in Indonesia now.

Guo’s sister, Sheila, and Cassandra Li Ong, an incorporator of the Lucky South 99 offshore gaming firm, have been arrested by Indonesian authorities and deported to the country yesterday. The two, according to reports, were supposedly with the dismissed mayor in Indonesia.

Abalos said the PNP is “doing everything” to prevent Quiboloy from leaving the country.

Warrants of arrest have been issued against the KOJC founder for

child abuse and human trafficking by a Davao City court and Pasig City court, respectively.

The Senate has also issued a warrant of arrest against Quiboloy for refusing to cooperate in the Senate investigation on his alleged sexual abuse and human trafficking acts.

Abalos said that “based on our report, Pastor Quiboloy is still in the Philippines. That is based on that report that was given to us.”

Davao region police director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III two weeks ago said information indicate Quiboloy is hiding inside the KOJC compound Davao City.

Torres said they are exercising “maximum tolerance” in treating the information to avoid violence, noting that past operations at the compound have led to commotion.

Abalos assured the public that efforts are continuing to locate and arrest Quiboloy.

“We are doing everything (to arrest) Pastor Quiboloy, Alice Guo, and the others who have warrants of arrest. I will assure you that,” he said.
